Statement

I am a conscientious, driven sports sponsorship professional.  Building successful sports sponsorship deals and brand awareness is where I thrive.  I am confident and versatile in developing sponsorship deals; I have a strong negotiating and sales background.  My strength has always been on building and maintaining relationships with clients and colleagues.  Having a strong marketing and brand awareness in both consumer and B2B environments has been imperative.  Adapting to the ever-evolving business environment, has allowed me to maximise my targets and deliver key sponsorship deals with significant return on investments for my clients. I am actively seeking to be challenged and am motivated to take the next positive step in my career.

North One Television                                           January 2017-Ongoing.

Sponsorship & Commercial Manager - DirtQuake Events.

​

North One Television acquired the ownership of Sideburn magazine’s DirtQuake FlatTrack racing event in early 2017.

Responsibilities:

  • Negotiating commercial sponsorship for three events in UK, Italy and USA in 2017/18.

  • Managing and running the DirtQuake events, alongside marketing and social media management, Health & Safety requirements, ticketing and the entry of competitors.

  • Sponsorship account management on events.

Achievements:

  • 200% increase in sponsorship revenue in the first year.

  • Developed and negotiated a multi-year deal with a major motorcycle manufacturer.

  • Created all social media channels, with good performing content

 

North One Television                               October 2011-December 2016.

Sponsorship & Commercial Manager - Isle of Man TT & Classic TT.

I built and grew the sponsorship and commercial aspects of the Isle of Man TT working closely with the Isle of Man Government’s Department of Economic Development. On behalf of the rights holders, my remit was to organise and also implement sponsorship with the world renowned IoM TT & Classic TT.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing and negotiating commercial sponsorship for the IoM TT and in 2013 to also include the Classic TT as a new event.

  • Multi-year sponsorship deal negotiations

  • Drafting of contracts to fully executed legal documents.

  • Account management of the existing multi-year sponsors, as well relationship development with new partners.

  • Management of a team for on-event sponsorship activation.

Achievements:

  • Exceeding all commercial records in the 110 year history of the Isle of Man TT.

  • Targeted for positive growth of 5% year on year, exceeding target by each year by upto 38% in 2013-2014.

  • Classic TT sponsorship revenue growth of 71% from the inaugural event in 2013 to 2014.

Self Employed Consultant

 

Utilising over 4 years’ experience working in the motorsport industry, I applied this knowledge to provide marketing and promotional expertise to businesses, teams and drivers.

Responsibilities:

  • Create, plan and execute strategies to gain the most from the commercial side of motorsport to benefit my clients.

  • Build proposals for investment, balancing high value for all the parties

  • Understanding the dynamics of the industry, to provide effective proposals that placed ROI at the forefront.

Achievements:

  • Consulted and introduced a new product to the motorsport market, with contract deals with BRSCC & ACU.

  • Team and personal sponsorship consultancy in BTCC, LMS(WEC), GP2 and ChampCar.

I worked across Haymarket’s motorsport publications, primarily Autosport and Autosport.com.

Responsibilities:

  • Working as part of a team, I offered my clients the best options for advertising and marketing their businesses.

  • Building revenue with existing clients as well creating new business opportunities.

  • Working to develop client’s marketing strategy for campaigns, coordinating creative design and implementing the campaigns at the right time to offer the best results.

  • Managing the high pressures of deadlines and strict schedules.

  • Working to competitive team targets weekly and monthly as well as individual KPI’s.

Achievements:

  • Consistently achieved targets, whether weekly or monthly. Also exceeded annual targets in 2008 and 2009.

  • Strong senior sales consultant within the team, generating regular and new business revenue.

  • Developed strong relationships within my client base varying from small motorsport businesses, West End agencies to racing teams and drivers at all levels from grassroots to BTCC, LMS (WEC) and F1.
